Planning permission
A normal domestic CCTV installation does not need planning permission — it is permitted development. The Planning Portal sets the limits: no more than sixteen cameras on a building and no more than four on a single wall, each camera at least 2.5 metres above ground level, none protruding more than a metre from the wall, and cameras not exceeding 0.75m × 0.25m × 0.25m. Listed buildings and some conservation-area properties fall outside this and should be checked with Harrow Council first.
Filming beyond your boundary
If every camera only sees inside your own boundary, data protection law does not apply to you. The moment a camera captures the pavement, a shared drive or a neighbour's garden, the ICO treats you as a data controller. In practice that means being able to say why you need that view, deleting footage on a regular cycle, and handing over a copy if someone recorded in it asks.

Can I watch my cameras on my phone?
Yes. Live view and playback run on your phone, tablet or computer over your broadband, and there is no monthly subscription because footage is recorded to a hard drive at your property rather than in the cloud. We set the app up on your devices and show you how to review and export footage before we leave.
Can you upgrade or repair my existing CCTV system?
Yes. Where the existing coax or network cable is sound we re-use it, which keeps the cost down and avoids fresh cable runs through a finished house.
