Burglar alarms
Wireless or wired, Grade 2 systems from Ajax, Texecom and Pyronix, controlled from your phone with instant push alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Alarms, cameras and video doorbells for Edgware homes — from the 1920s and 30s streets of Broadfields to large detached houses on the Edgwarebury side, and the many Edgware homes in the middle of a refurb. Surveyed in person, priced in writing, fitted and set up on your phone.
Whether you are protecting a finished family home or planning security into a full refurbishment, we design the alarm, cameras and doorbell together so they share one app and, where it suits, one set of sirens.
Wireless or wired, Grade 2 systems from Ajax, Texecom and Pyronix, controlled from your phone with instant push alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →4K cameras with full-colour night recording, person and vehicle detection, and 30+ days of footage kept at home — no subscription.
CCTV installation →Wired doorbells that see who's there, record deliveries, and can chime through your alarm sirens so you hear it upstairs.
Ask about doorbells →Old panel, lost engineer code, or a system the previous owner left behind? We keep the sound wiring and sensors and replace the brains.
Alarm upgrades →Much of Edgware was built in the 1920s and 30s, after the Northern line arrived, and a great many of those houses are now being extended, re-roofed or completely refurbished. That changes the right way to install security — and when to do it.
Semis and detached houses with a side access, a long garden and, very often, a rear extension or loft conversion.
Bigger plots with long drives, garages and outbuildings — and more ground for an intruder to cross unseen.
If you are mid-build, a wired system is the better long-term choice. We run every cable at first fix, before plastering, and give your builder clear rules for where the cable tails must be left. Once decorating is finished we return at second fix to install and commission. Two visits, two prices, no guesswork.
If the house is decorated and you're living in it, we fit a wireless system. Detectors are battery powered, the panel talks over your broadband with a SIM as back-up, and a typical house is done in a day with nothing to make good afterwards.
Edgware straddles two boroughs: the town centre and Broadfields are in Barnet, while the Canons Park side is in Harrow. It makes no difference to us — we cover all of HA8.
Honest starting points so you can budget. Your actual price comes from the survey and is fixed in writing before anything is booked.
Installed, including VAT
Per system, plus VAT · standard 3-bed home with existing wired detectors
Wired systems for refurbishments are quoted as separate first fix and second fix stages after the survey. New alarm systems are priced after the survey because the device count depends on your doors, windows and layout. Anything that adds cost — a long run to a garden office, scaffolding, cable through finished walls — is flagged at the survey, never on the day.
We walk the house and garden with you, at a time that suits, and talk through what you actually want covered.
Every device by make and model, the labour, and the payment terms. Usually with you within 24 hours.
Dust sheets down, tidy cable routes, every detector walk-tested and every camera proved on screen.
Apps set up on your phones, everyone shown how to arm and view, and a completion certificate for your records.
From the town centre out to Edgwarebury and down to Burnt Oak, we cover all of HA8 and the neighbourhoods around it, from our base in Harrow.
Tell us a little about the house and what's worrying you. We'll call back the same working day to book a time.
It depends on the house. Replacing an old panel and keeping your existing wired sensors starts from £495 + VAT. A new system is priced from a free survey, because a Broadfields semi needs far fewer devices than a large detached house on the Edgwarebury side. You get a fixed written quote before any work is booked.
Guide prices, installed and including VAT: two cameras from £695, four cameras from £1,095 and eight cameras from £1,895. Four cameras covers most Edgware family homes: front, side and rear garden. Anything that adds cost, such as a long run to an outbuilding or scaffolding, is flagged at the survey.
Before the plasterboard goes on. We run the alarm, camera and network cables at first fix while the walls and ceilings are open, then come back at second fix, once decorating is done, to install and commission everything. Each visit is quoted separately so you know exactly what each stage costs, and your builder gets clear guidance on where every cable tail must be left.
Yes. In a finished, occupied home we normally install a wireless system such as Ajax, so there is no chasing and no redecorating. Wired systems are best when you are renovating and the walls are open.
Yes. We install CCTV, intruder alarms and door entry for shops, restaurants, salons and offices around Station Road and the town centre, and set up the signage and recording policy your data protection duties require.
Usually, yes, including systems we did not install. Where the existing wiring and detectors prove sound we keep them and replace the panel and keypad, which is far cheaper than a new system.
