Burglar alarms
Wireless or wired, Grade 2 systems from Ajax, Texecom and Pyronix, controlled from your phone with instant push alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Alarms, cameras and video doorbells designed around the way Pinner homes are actually built, from 1930s semis near Rayners Lane to detached houses on Pinner Hill with a garden office at the bottom. Surveyed in person, priced in writing, fitted and set up on your phone.
Most Pinner customers start with one thing — an alarm that keeps beeping, or a camera for the side passage — and end up wanting the system to work as one. We design alarm, cameras and doorbell together so they share one app and, where it suits, one set of sirens.
Wireless or wired, Grade 2 systems from Ajax, Texecom and Pyronix, controlled from your phone with instant push alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →4K cameras with full-colour night recording, person and vehicle detection, and 30+ days of footage kept at home — no subscription.
CCTV installation →Wired doorbells that see who's there, record deliveries, and can chime through your alarm sirens so you hear it upstairs.
Ask about doorbells →Old panel, lost engineer code, or a system the previous owner left behind? We keep the sound wiring and sensors and replace the brains.
Alarm upgrades →Pinner grew up around the Metropolitan line, and most of the housing follows a handful of patterns. Each one has its own weak points, and its own sensible way to cover them.
The classic layout: front door, a side passage to the garden, and very often a single-storey rear extension.
Bigger plots mean longer approaches, gates, garages and outbuildings — and more ground for an intruder to cross unseen.
If the house is decorated and you're living in it, we fit a wireless system. Detectors are battery powered, the panel talks over your broadband with a SIM as back-up, and a typical house is done in a day with nothing to make good afterwards.
Pinner has no shortage of loft conversions and back extensions. If you're mid-build, a wired system costs less over its life. We run the cables at first fix, before plastering, and come back at second fix to install and commission — quoted as two separate stages so you know exactly what each visit costs.
Conservation areas and listed buildings: parts of Pinner, including around the High Street, fall within conservation areas. We keep external equipment discreet and will tell you at the survey if anything is worth checking with Harrow Council first.
Honest starting points so you can budget. Your actual price comes from the survey and is fixed in writing before anything is booked.
Installed, including VAT
Per system, plus VAT · standard 3-bed home with existing wired detectors
New alarm systems are priced after the survey because the device count depends on your doors, windows and layout. Anything that adds cost — a long run to a garden office, scaffolding, cable through finished walls — is flagged at the survey, never on the day.
We walk the house and garden with you, at a time that suits, and talk through what you actually want covered.
Every device by make and model, the labour, and the payment terms. Usually with you within 24 hours.
Dust sheets down, tidy cable routes, every detector walk-tested and every camera proved on screen.
Apps set up on your phones, everyone shown how to arm and view, and a completion certificate for your records.
Pinner sits in the London Borough of Harrow, with Eastcote just over the line in Hillingdon. We cover all of HA5 and the neighbourhoods around it, from our base in Harrow.
Tell us a little about the house and what's worrying you. We'll call back the same working day to book a time.
It depends on the house rather than the postcode. Replacing an old panel and keeping your existing wired sensors starts from £495 + VAT. A new system is priced from a free survey, because a 1930s semi near Rayners Lane needs far fewer devices than a detached house on Pinner Hill with a garden office. You get a fixed written quote before any work is booked.
Guide prices, installed and including VAT: two cameras from £695, four cameras from £1,095 and eight cameras from £1,895. Four cameras covers most Pinner homes: front, side passage and rear garden. Anything that adds cost, such as a long run to an outbuilding or scaffolding, is flagged at the survey.
Yes. In a finished, occupied home we normally install a wireless system such as Ajax, so there is no chasing, no lifting floorboards and no redecorating. Wired systems are recommended when you are renovating and the walls are open, and are installed as separate first and second fix visits.
Parts of Pinner fall within conservation areas. Cameras and alarm bell boxes on a house do not normally need planning permission, but a listed building needs listed building consent before anything is fixed to it, and in a conservation area it is sensible to check with Harrow Council first. We position equipment discreetly and can advise at the survey.
Yes. Many Pinner gardens have an office, gym or studio at the bottom. We add detectors there on the same system, using a range extender for wireless alarms or an external-grade cable in duct for wired ones, and can add a camera facing the garden.
Usually, yes, including systems we did not install. Where the existing wiring and detectors prove sound we keep them and replace the panel and keypad, which is far cheaper than a new system.
