Wireless alarms
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Hillingdon stretches from Northwood and Ruislip down to Hayes, West Drayton and the edge of Heathrow. Metro-land semis in Ruislip and Eastcote, larger houses in Northwood and Ickenham, Harefield's village homes and the terraces of Hayes all call for different alarm layouts. Each one is surveyed in person, priced in writing, and fitted ready to control from your phone.
New systems, upgrades of old panels, takeovers of alarms other companies fitted, and servicing — for houses, flats, shops and offices. Every system is designed from a survey of the property, never from a fixed kit.
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Texecom and Pyronix wired systems for renovations and new builds, cabled at first fix and installed at second fix.
Texecom alarms →Old panel, lost engineer code, or an alarm the last owner left behind? We keep sound wiring and sensors and replace the panel.
Alarm upgrades →Beeping keypads, false alarms, flat batteries and faulty detectors on Texecom, Pyronix, Visonic, Risco and other makes.
Alarm servicing →Hillingdon is one of London's largest boroughs by area, so its housing changes a great deal from north to south. Interwar suburbs dominate Ruislip, Eastcote and Ickenham; Northwood has many large detached homes; Uxbridge and Hayes have growing numbers of flats; and Harefield keeps a village feel. Detached garages, deep gardens and outbuildings are common, and all of them affect where detectors go.
Many were built after the Metropolitan line arrived, with bay windows, side passages, garages and, now, plenty of rear extensions. A wireless system protects each external door, every ground-floor room and any bedroom that can be reached from an extension roof, and is usually fitted in a single day.
Northwood's larger homes sit on wide, often wooded plots with long drives, side gates and several sets of garden doors. We add shock sensors to accessible glazing, extend the system to garages, gyms and pool buildings, and can set up separate areas so part of the house stays armed while you are at home.
If you are renovating, a wired alarm is cabled at first fix and installed at second fix, so the wiring is hidden for good. If you have moved into a home with an older system already in place, the sound wiring and detectors can usually be kept, with a new panel and keypad bringing app control and phone alerts.
Newer blocks around Hayes and West Drayton suit a compact wireless kit fitted inside the flat, with any external siren agreed with the managing agent first. Trade and warehouse units in the industrial areas of Hayes and around the airport usually need shutter contacts, individual staff codes and detection covering yards and loading doors.
Hillingdon has a number of conservation areas, including Ruislip Village and Harefield Village, and listed buildings in the borough need listed building consent before anything is fixed to them.
Starting prices so you can budget. Your exact price comes from the survey and is fixed in writing before anything is booked.
Prices depend on the number of doors, windows and rooms. Anything that adds cost — an outbuilding, long cable runs, scaffolding — is flagged at the survey, never on the day. Monitoring and SIM connectivity are optional extras quoted separately.
We walk the property with you and check every door, window and approach before anything is priced.
Every device by make and model, the labour and the payment terms. Usually with you within 24 hours.
Dust sheets down, tidy cable routes, and every detector walk-tested before we leave.
App set up on your phones, everyone shown how to arm and disarm, and a completion certificate for your records.
We install burglar alarms across the London Borough of Hillingdon — postcodes HA4, HA6, UB3, UB4, UB7, UB8, UB10 — and the neighbouring boroughs.
Tell us a little about the property and what's worrying you. We'll call back the same working day to book a time.
Yes. A detached garage can have its own door contact and motion detector, linked to the house system wirelessly, with a range extender if it sits beyond normal reach. It can be armed with the house or on its own, which is useful if you keep bikes, tools or a car there and want the garage protected around the clock.
Motion detectors and door contacts are not triggered by aircraft noise. Shock sensors on windows do respond to vibration, so in homes close to the airport we adjust their sensitivity during commissioning and test them in place. That keeps nuisance alerts down while still picking up an attempt to force a window.
Yes. A wireless system needs no cable runs, so there is nothing to clip along walls or chase into old plaster, and the detectors are compact enough to sit discreetly on ceilings and frames. If the cottage is listed, fixing anything to it, particularly outside, may need listed building consent, so we keep the installation internal unless consent is in place.
With an app-based system, yes. You can add and remove users, change codes and check the system's status remotely, so each new tenant gets their own access and the previous tenant's is removed. Make sure the tenancy agreement explains how the alarm works and who receives its alerts, so everyone knows where they stand.
A wireless Ajax alarm starts from £995 including VAT, a wired or hybrid system from £1,995 including VAT, and upgrading an old panel while keeping your existing wired sensors from £495 + VAT. Your exact price depends on the number of doors, windows and rooms, and is fixed in writing after a free survey.
If your home is finished and lived in, wireless is usually best: no chasing walls, no redecorating, and most homes are done in a day. If you are renovating, a wired system run at first fix before plastering is the better long-term choice, installed at second fix once decorating is done.
Usually, yes — including systems we did not install. Where the existing wiring and detectors prove sound we keep them and replace the panel and keypad, which costs far less than a new system and can add smartphone control.
A 12-month guarantee on our installation work, alongside the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment we supply. You also receive a completion certificate for your records.
