Wireless alarms
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Haringey runs from the Edwardian streets of Muswell Hill and Crouch End, through the Harringay Ladder to Tottenham's Victorian terraces and the new blocks around Tottenham Hale. On the sloping western streets, some houses gain a garden-level floor at the back. Each alarm is surveyed in person, priced in writing, then installed and set up on your phone.
New systems, upgrades of old panels, takeovers of alarms other companies fitted, and servicing — for houses, flats, shops and offices. Every system is designed from a survey of the property, never from a fixed kit.

Ajax alarm systems →Texecom and Pyronix wired systems for renovations and new builds, cabled at first fix and installed at second fix.
Texecom alarms →Old panel, lost engineer code, or an alarm the last owner left behind? We keep sound wiring and sensors and replace the panel.
Alarm upgrades →Beeping keypads, false alarms, flat batteries and faulty detectors on Texecom, Pyronix, Visonic, Risco and other makes.
Alarm servicing →The west of the borough is dominated by large Edwardian houses and the conversions made from them, many on sloping plots with garden flats below. Further east, Tottenham and Wood Green mix Victorian terraces, post-war estates and recent apartment developments. A house split into three flats, a family home on a slope and a new-build apartment each need their own alarm plan.
Large red-brick houses with deep bays, tiled porches and long gardens, often extended at the back. On sloping streets the rear can sit a floor lower than the front, creating a garden-level entrance that needs its own protection. Wireless detectors keep original plasterwork and picture rails intact.
The Ladder's long parallel streets are lined with Victorian terraces, many now split into upper and lower flats with separate front doors. Ground-floor flats need the garden door and back rooms covered; upper flats focus on their own entrance and stair. A small wireless panel suits either without disturbing the neighbours.
Many Tottenham terraces are refurbished from the ground up, which is the right moment for a wired alarm: cables at first fix, devices at second fix. Where a house is already finished, an existing alarm can often be taken over, keeping sound wiring and detectors and replacing the panel and keypad.
Recent blocks near Tottenham Hale and Wood Green usually have controlled entry, so the alarm protects the flat door and any balcony access. A compact wireless kit with an indoor siren and phone alerts suits them well. Anything outside the flat, including an external siren, needs the building manager's agreement.
Haringey has a number of conservation areas, including Muswell Hill and Crouch End, and listed buildings in the borough need listed building consent before anything is fixed to them.
Starting prices so you can budget. Your exact price comes from the survey and is fixed in writing before anything is booked.
Prices depend on the number of doors, windows and rooms. Anything that adds cost — an outbuilding, long cable runs, scaffolding — is flagged at the survey, never on the day. Monitoring and SIM connectivity are optional extras quoted separately.
We walk the property with you and check every door, window and approach before anything is priced.
Every device by make and model, the labour and the payment terms. Usually with you within 24 hours.
Dust sheets down, tidy cable routes, and every detector walk-tested before we leave.
App set up on your phones, everyone shown how to arm and disarm, and a completion certificate for your records.
We install burglar alarms across the London Borough of Haringey — postcodes N4, N6, N8, N10, N15, N17, N22 — and the neighbouring boroughs.
Tell us a little about the property and what's worrying you. We'll call back the same working day to book a time.
Usually a few more, because the garden-level floor has its own doors and windows. We treat it as a second ground floor: a contact on each external door, motion detection in each room and, if there is a terrace above it, cover for the rooms reachable from there. The survey shows exactly which rooms need devices before anything is priced.
Yes. Each flat can have an independent wireless system inside it, with its own keypad, app and users, so one household arming or disarming does not affect another. Shared hallways and the outside of the building are a matter for the freeholder, so any device there needs agreement between the owners first.
In most cases, yes. We test the existing wiring and detectors, keep whatever is sound and replace the control panel and keypad. That gives you app control and phone alerts without new cable runs. If a previous installer locked the old panel, replacing it removes that problem, and you are handed full control of the codes.
The passage itself is outdoors, so we either fit an outdoor motion detector or, more often, protect what it leads to: the side door, kitchen window and back garden doors. Outdoor detectors can be set to ignore small animals and moving foliage, and can alert your phone before anyone reaches the house.
A wireless Ajax alarm starts from £995 including VAT, a wired or hybrid system from £1,995 including VAT, and upgrading an old panel while keeping your existing wired sensors from £495 + VAT. Your exact price depends on the number of doors, windows and rooms, and is fixed in writing after a free survey.
If your home is finished and lived in, wireless is usually best: no chasing walls, no redecorating, and most homes are done in a day. If you are renovating, a wired system run at first fix before plastering is the better long-term choice, installed at second fix once decorating is done.
Usually, yes — including systems we did not install. Where the existing wiring and detectors prove sound we keep them and replace the panel and keypad, which costs far less than a new system and can add smartphone control.
A 12-month guarantee on our installation work, alongside the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment we supply. You also receive a completion certificate for your records.
