Wireless alarms
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →From the Edwardian terraces of Seven Kings and Goodmayes to the 1930s semis of Gants Hill and Clayhall and the larger detached houses of Woodford Green, Redbridge homes vary street by street. We design each burglar alarm around the house in front of us: surveyed in person, priced in writing, then fitted and set up on your phone.
New systems, upgrades of old panels, takeovers of alarms other companies fitted, and servicing — for houses, flats, shops and offices. Every system is designed from a survey of the property, never from a fixed kit.

Ajax alarm systems →Texecom and Pyronix wired systems for renovations and new builds, cabled at first fix and installed at second fix.
Texecom alarms →Old panel, lost engineer code, or an alarm the last owner left behind? We keep sound wiring and sensors and replace the panel.
Alarm upgrades →Beeping keypads, false alarms, flat batteries and faulty detectors on Texecom, Pyronix, Visonic, Risco and other makes.
Alarm servicing →Redbridge grew mostly between the 1890s and the 1930s, so much of the borough is long runs of terraces and semi-detached houses with rear gardens, side passages and back extensions. Wanstead and Woodford add older and larger properties, while central Ilford is filling up with new flats. Each of these has different entry points, which is why the alarm layout follows the building rather than a standard kit.
These streets are full of two-storey terraces with a bay at the front, a long narrow hallway and a kitchen extension at the back. The weak points are usually the rear: the back door, the garden-facing kitchen and any window over a flat-roofed extension. A wireless system covers all of this without lifting floorboards or disturbing original features.
Interwar semis often have a side gate, a garage or converted garage and French doors to the garden. Many have since gained a single-storey rear extension. We place detectors so the whole ground floor is covered, including converted garages that are now used as a study or utility, and we add shock sensors to patio doors if you want earlier warning.
Bigger houses near Epping Forest and Wanstead Park tend to have more doors, outbuildings, long gardens and rooms that stand empty for hours at a time. A wireless system with range extenders reaches garden offices and detached garages without trenching cable. If the house is mid-renovation, we can run a wired system at first fix instead.
Newer apartment blocks near Ilford station suit a compact wireless alarm with a keypad inside the front door and detectors in the living space. For shops and small businesses on the high roads, we cover the shopfront, rear service door and stockroom separately, so staff areas can be set while the till area stays open.
Parts of Wanstead and Woodford fall within conservation areas, where Redbridge Council may expect external fittings such as siren boxes to be discreetly placed; we check this at survey.
Starting prices so you can budget. Your exact price comes from the survey and is fixed in writing before anything is booked.
Prices depend on the number of doors, windows and rooms. Anything that adds cost — an outbuilding, long cable runs, scaffolding — is flagged at the survey, never on the day. Monitoring and SIM connectivity are optional extras quoted separately.
We walk the property with you and check every door, window and approach before anything is priced.
Every device by make and model, the labour and the payment terms. Usually with you within 24 hours.
Dust sheets down, tidy cable routes, and every detector walk-tested before we leave.
App set up on your phones, everyone shown how to arm and disarm, and a completion certificate for your records.
We install burglar alarms across the London Borough of Redbridge — postcodes IG1, IG2, IG3, IG4, IG5, IG6, IG8, E11, E18 — and the neighbouring boroughs.
Tell us a little about the property and what's worrying you. We'll call back the same working day to book a time.
Often yes. Many Redbridge terraces have wired alarms fitted decades ago. If the cabling tests sound and the detectors are working, we keep them and replace the control panel and keypad, which brings in phone alerts without rewiring. If the wiring has failed or been cut during past building work, we will tell you at survey and suggest a wireless replacement instead.
Yes. Once a garage becomes a living space it is part of the ground floor and should be covered like any other room. We usually fit a motion detector inside and a contact on the garage-style or side door if it still opens. If the old up-and-over door remains in place, it can also be fitted with a contact.
In most cases. Wireless signals from systems such as Ajax travel a long way, and a range extender inside the main house or the office itself can bridge the gap. We test signal strength on the day of the survey before quoting, so you know the office will report reliably and not just work in theory.
Inside your own flat you can normally fit a wireless alarm without permission, as nothing is drilled into shared walls or the exterior. An external siren or anything on the outside of the building needs the freeholder or managing agent's agreement first. An internal siren with phone alerts is usually the simplest route in a block.
A wireless Ajax alarm starts from £995 including VAT, a wired or hybrid system from £1,995 including VAT, and upgrading an old panel while keeping your existing wired sensors from £495 + VAT. Your exact price depends on the number of doors, windows and rooms, and is fixed in writing after a free survey.
If your home is finished and lived in, wireless is usually best: no chasing walls, no redecorating, and most homes are done in a day. If you are renovating, a wired system run at first fix before plastering is the better long-term choice, installed at second fix once decorating is done.
Usually, yes — including systems we did not install. Where the existing wiring and detectors prove sound we keep them and replace the panel and keypad, which costs far less than a new system and can add smartphone control.
A 12-month guarantee on our installation work, alongside the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment we supply. You also receive a completion certificate for your records.
