Wireless alarms
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Havering mixes Romford's town-centre flats, 1930s semis in Hornchurch, Elm Park and Upminster, larger detached homes in Emerson Park and Gidea Park, and farmhouses and smallholdings out towards the green belt. An alarm for each looks quite different, which is why every system is surveyed in person and priced in writing, then fitted and linked to your phone.
New systems, upgrades of old panels, takeovers of alarms other companies fitted, and servicing — for houses, flats, shops and offices. Every system is designed from a survey of the property, never from a fixed kit.
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Texecom and Pyronix wired systems for renovations and new builds, cabled at first fix and installed at second fix.
Texecom alarms →Old panel, lost engineer code, or an alarm the last owner left behind? We keep sound wiring and sensors and replace the panel.
Alarm upgrades →Beeping keypads, false alarms, flat batteries and faulty detectors on Texecom, Pyronix, Visonic, Risco and other makes.
Alarm servicing →Havering is London's most easterly borough and one of its greenest, with open land around Upminster, Rainham and Havering-atte-Bower. Most homes are suburban houses with gardens, garages and driveways, but there are also post-war estates at Harold Hill, new flats in Romford and properties with barns, stables or workshops. Outbuildings and long gardens shape the design as much as the house itself.
Semis and short terraces with side passages, garages and often a rear conservatory or single-storey extension. Conservatories are a common weak point because of their large areas of glazing and lighter doors. We put a contact on the conservatory door, cover the room with motion detection and protect the door leading from it into the house.
Gidea Park grew from the Romford Garden Suburb, with individually designed Arts and Crafts houses, while Emerson Park has many large detached homes on generous plots. Both suit a wireless system that leaves original joinery untouched and reaches out to garages, pool houses and garden rooms.
Properties beyond the built-up area often have barns, stables, workshops or stores well away from the house. Wireless range extenders carry the signal across the yard, and each building can be armed separately, so you can lock up a workshop while the house stays off. Outdoor detectors can warn you of movement on a driveway.
Romford's newer apartment blocks suit a compact wireless kit fitted within the flat, with alerts to your phone and nothing on the exterior unless the managing agent agrees. Shops in Romford town centre and trade units around Rainham and Harold Wood need staff codes, shutter contacts and detection covering yards and rear doors.
A large share of Havering is designated green belt, the borough has conservation areas including Gidea Park, and any listed building needs listed building consent before anything is fixed to it.
Starting prices so you can budget. Your exact price comes from the survey and is fixed in writing before anything is booked.
Prices depend on the number of doors, windows and rooms. Anything that adds cost — an outbuilding, long cable runs, scaffolding — is flagged at the survey, never on the day. Monitoring and SIM connectivity are optional extras quoted separately.
We walk the property with you and check every door, window and approach before anything is priced.
Every device by make and model, the labour and the payment terms. Usually with you within 24 hours.
Dust sheets down, tidy cable routes, and every detector walk-tested before we leave.
App set up on your phones, everyone shown how to arm and disarm, and a completion certificate for your records.
We install burglar alarms across the London Borough of Havering — postcodes RM1, RM2, RM3, RM7, RM11, RM12, RM13, RM14 — and the neighbouring boroughs.
Tell us a little about the property and what's worrying you. We'll call back the same working day to book a time.
Yes. A wireless range extender carries the signal to outbuildings beyond the main panel's reach, and each building can be set up as its own area. You can arm the stables or barn overnight while living normally in the house, and the app tells you exactly which building and which door triggered an alert.
Yes, because a conservatory is usually the lightest-built part of the house. We fit a contact on its external door and a motion detector inside, and protect the door between the conservatory and the house. Shock sensors on the frames give earlier warning if you want it, and the detector is positioned to avoid false alerts from direct sun.
Not if it is planned with care. Wireless detectors and contacts are small and sit on ceilings and frames rather than in the middle of walls, with no cables run through original joinery. If you want an external siren, we place it where it is least prominent, and in a conservation area it is sensible to check with the council before fixing anything to the front.
Ask your landlord first, because most council and housing association tenancies need permission for alterations. A wireless system is the easiest to approve, as it involves no cable runs and very little fixing. If you own the house, there is no such restriction, and the alarm is designed in the same way as for any other family home.
A wireless Ajax alarm starts from £995 including VAT, a wired or hybrid system from £1,995 including VAT, and upgrading an old panel while keeping your existing wired sensors from £495 + VAT. Your exact price depends on the number of doors, windows and rooms, and is fixed in writing after a free survey.
If your home is finished and lived in, wireless is usually best: no chasing walls, no redecorating, and most homes are done in a day. If you are renovating, a wired system run at first fix before plastering is the better long-term choice, installed at second fix once decorating is done.
Usually, yes — including systems we did not install. Where the existing wiring and detectors prove sound we keep them and replace the panel and keypad, which costs far less than a new system and can add smartphone control.
A 12-month guarantee on our installation work, alongside the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment we supply. You also receive a completion certificate for your records.
