Wireless alarms
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Westminster homes range from stucco terraces in Pimlico and Belgravia and Georgian townhouses in Marylebone to mansion flats in Maida Vale, villas in St John's Wood and mews houses behind the main streets. Basements, lightwells and shared entrances are everywhere. Each alarm is surveyed in person, priced in writing, then fitted and set up on your phone.
New systems, upgrades of old panels, takeovers of alarms other companies fitted, and servicing — for houses, flats, shops and offices. Every system is designed from a survey of the property, never from a fixed kit.

Ajax alarm systems →Texecom and Pyronix wired systems for renovations and new builds, cabled at first fix and installed at second fix.
Texecom alarms →Old panel, lost engineer code, or an alarm the last owner left behind? We keep sound wiring and sensors and replace the panel.
Alarm upgrades →Beeping keypads, false alarms, flat batteries and faulty detectors on Texecom, Pyronix, Visonic, Risco and other makes.
Alarm servicing →Most Westminster homes are period properties, many divided into flats, and many on estates where the landlord controls alterations. Lower ground floors with front lightwells, rear mews entrances and roof terraces are common entry points. Offices, shops and restaurants also share buildings with homes. Every one of these factors affects where detectors go and what can be fixed outside.
Tall terraced houses here typically have a lower ground floor reached by area steps, vaults under the pavement, several floors of sash windows and sometimes a roof terrace. We protect the lower ground floor as the main entry level, cover area and garden doors, and include roof-terrace access. Wireless equipment keeps fixings into period plaster to a minimum.
Mews houses often have a garage door at street level, living space above and, in some cases, a converted ground floor. With entry points directly on the cobbles, we fit contacts to garage and front doors and cover the ground floor fully. Many mews have neighbours close on both sides, so an internal siren with phone alerts works well.
Mansion flats often have long corridors, high ceilings and a rear service door to a back staircase. A compact wireless alarm covers both doors, the corridor and the main reception rooms. Nothing is fixed to the outside of the building or in communal areas without the freeholder or managing agent's agreement.
Commercial premises in Soho and around Oxford Street often share a building with flats above. We design separate areas for the shop floor, basement storage and any upstairs office, add contacts to shutters and rear doors, and send alerts to every key holder. Takeovers of existing Texecom, Pyronix or Risco systems are often possible.
Much of Westminster lies within conservation areas and the city has a very large number of listed buildings, so listed building consent, and often the estate landlord's permission, may be needed before a siren box is fixed to a front elevation.
Starting prices so you can budget. Your exact price comes from the survey and is fixed in writing before anything is booked.
Prices depend on the number of doors, windows and rooms. Anything that adds cost — an outbuilding, long cable runs, scaffolding — is flagged at the survey, never on the day. Monitoring and SIM connectivity are optional extras quoted separately.
We walk the property with you and check every door, window and approach before anything is priced.
Every device by make and model, the labour and the payment terms. Usually with you within 24 hours.
Dust sheets down, tidy cable routes, and every detector walk-tested before we leave.
App set up on your phones, everyone shown how to arm and disarm, and a completion certificate for your records.
We install burglar alarms across the London Borough of City of Westminster — postcodes W1, W2, W9, NW8, SW1 — and the neighbouring boroughs.
Tell us a little about the property and what's worrying you. We'll call back the same working day to book a time.
For internal equipment, usually not, but check your lease or licence terms. External siren boxes and detectors on the front elevation commonly need the estate's consent and, for listed buildings, listed building consent. We can fit the internal system first and add external parts once approval is in place.
We treat it as the main entry level. The area door and any vault doors get contacts, rooms facing the lightwell get motion detectors, and sash windows there can have shock sensors for earlier warning. If the lower ground floor is a separate flat, it has its own system.
Yes. We fit a heavy-duty contact suitable for garage doors, cover the door from inside the house and place detectors across the ground floor. If the garage has been converted to a room, it is covered like any other room. The system can be set from your phone as you leave.
Yes. The app works wherever you have a data connection, showing status, history and live alerts. You can add other users, such as a neighbour or family member, so someone nearby receives the same notification. Professional monitoring is optional if you want a response service as well.
A wireless Ajax alarm starts from £995 including VAT, a wired or hybrid system from £1,995 including VAT, and upgrading an old panel while keeping your existing wired sensors from £495 + VAT. Your exact price depends on the number of doors, windows and rooms, and is fixed in writing after a free survey.
If your home is finished and lived in, wireless is usually best: no chasing walls, no redecorating, and most homes are done in a day. If you are renovating, a wired system run at first fix before plastering is the better long-term choice, installed at second fix once decorating is done.
Usually, yes — including systems we did not install. Where the existing wiring and detectors prove sound we keep them and replace the panel and keypad, which costs far less than a new system and can add smartphone control.
A 12-month guarantee on our installation work, alongside the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment we supply. You also receive a completion certificate for your records.
