Wireless alarms
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Croydon ranges from Victorian terraces in South Norwood, Thornton Heath and Norbury to large detached houses in Purley, Sanderstead and Coulsdon, with tower blocks and new apartments around the town centre. Each calls for a different alarm design, so we survey in person, price in writing, then fit and set it up on your phone.
New systems, upgrades of old panels, takeovers of alarms other companies fitted, and servicing — for houses, flats, shops and offices. Every system is designed from a survey of the property, never from a fixed kit.
Ajax wireless systems for finished, lived-in homes. No chasing, no redecorating, app control and instant alerts.
Ajax alarm systems →Texecom and Pyronix wired systems for renovations and new builds, cabled at first fix and installed at second fix.
Texecom alarms →Old panel, lost engineer code, or an alarm the last owner left behind? We keep sound wiring and sensors and replace the panel.
Alarm upgrades →Beeping keypads, false alarms, flat batteries and faulty detectors on Texecom, Pyronix, Visonic, Risco and other makes.
Alarm servicing →Croydon is one of London's most populous boroughs, and its housing reflects that range. The north has dense Victorian and Edwardian terraces, many converted into flats. The south climbs into the hills of Purley, Kenley, Sanderstead and Coulsdon, with detached houses on large, often sloping plots. The town centre has added tall residential blocks, while New Addington is largely post-war housing.
Two-storey terraces with a rear addition and a long, narrow garden are typical. Back extensions and kitchen doors are the usual way in, so they get contacts and motion detection, along with the front door and each ground-floor room. A bedroom over a flat-roofed kitchen extension is covered as well.
Hillside houses often have split levels, garages beneath the house and wide gardens running into woodland. We plan detector positions around the levels, treat integral garage doors as external entry points and add range extenders where the plot is large. Shock sensors on accessible windows give earlier warning.
High-rise and new-build flats need a compact wireless alarm covering the entrance door, the living room and any ground-floor or balcony access. Nothing is fixed to the outside of the building without the managing agent's agreement, and every alert goes straight to your phone wherever you are.
Plenty of Croydon homes have a wired alarm left by a previous owner. If the cabling tests sound, we replace the panel and keypad and keep the detectors, giving you your own codes and app control. Where you are renovating instead, a wired system goes in over two stages, first fix and second fix.
Croydon has a number of conservation areas, from Upper Norwood to the Webb Estate in Purley, so if your home is in one, or is listed, check with the council before fixing a siren to the front elevation.
Starting prices so you can budget. Your exact price comes from the survey and is fixed in writing before anything is booked.
Prices depend on the number of doors, windows and rooms. Anything that adds cost — an outbuilding, long cable runs, scaffolding — is flagged at the survey, never on the day. Monitoring and SIM connectivity are optional extras quoted separately.
We walk the property with you and check every door, window and approach before anything is priced.
Every device by make and model, the labour and the payment terms. Usually with you within 24 hours.
Dust sheets down, tidy cable routes, and every detector walk-tested before we leave.
App set up on your phones, everyone shown how to arm and disarm, and a completion certificate for your records.
We install burglar alarms across the London Borough of Croydon — postcodes CR0, CR2, CR5, CR7, CR8, SE19, SE25, SW16 — and the neighbouring boroughs.
Tell us a little about the property and what's worrying you. We'll call back the same working day to book a time.
An integral garage under the house is effectively another way in, so its main door and the internal door into the house both get contacts, and the garage gets a motion detector. Split-level layouts also need detectors placed so each level is covered without blind spots. All of this is mapped on the survey before you receive a written quote.
Usually the back. A rear kitchen extension, patio doors or a bathroom window over a flat roof are more exposed than the front door on the street. We concentrate contacts and detectors there, add shock sensors to accessible rear windows if you want earlier warning, and cover the front door and hall as standard.
Yes. Even on upper floors, your entrance door is the main risk, so a contact there and a detector in the hall or living room cover most layouts. The system is wireless, needs no cabling in the corridor and stays entirely inside your flat. An external siren would need the building manager's agreement.
Probably. We install and take over Ajax, Texecom, Pyronix, Visonic, Risco and Eaton systems, and see plenty of older equipment besides. The wiring and detectors are tested first, then the panel and keypad are replaced if needed so you have your own codes and app control. Equipment is only replaced where it fails testing.
A wireless Ajax alarm starts from £995 including VAT, a wired or hybrid system from £1,995 including VAT, and upgrading an old panel while keeping your existing wired sensors from £495 + VAT. Your exact price depends on the number of doors, windows and rooms, and is fixed in writing after a free survey.
If your home is finished and lived in, wireless is usually best: no chasing walls, no redecorating, and most homes are done in a day. If you are renovating, a wired system run at first fix before plastering is the better long-term choice, installed at second fix once decorating is done.
Usually, yes — including systems we did not install. Where the existing wiring and detectors prove sound we keep them and replace the panel and keypad, which costs far less than a new system and can add smartphone control.
A 12-month guarantee on our installation work, alongside the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment we supply. You also receive a completion certificate for your records.
