Wired reliability with the Ajax experience.
A complete wired alternative to Jeweller wireless. Ajax Fibra runs all sensors, sirens, and keypads on a single shielded twisted-pair bus — up to 2,000 metres per line. Same Ajax app, same ecosystem, same intelligent features. Where wireless isn't appropriate, Fibra is the answer.
Free site survey · Fixed-price quote · Same-week installation across London. No-obligation, no high-pressure sales — just a certified Ajax engineer assessing your property and recommending the right system.
Takes 60 seconds. No obligation.
For new builds, large commercial, listed buildings with metal-shielded walls, or environments with intense radio interference, wired beats wireless. Ajax Fibra delivers the wired solution without sacrificing modern Ajax features.
All Fibra devices connect to a single twisted-pair bus — power and data on the same cable. Far simpler installation than legacy alarm wiring with separate runs for each device.
Up to 2 kilometres of cable per Fibra line — handles large commercial properties, multi-building campuses, perimeter detection, and remote outbuildings.
Wired devices appear in the same Ajax app, same notifications, same user management. Visiting users don't need to know whether their alarm is wired or wireless — they just use the app.
Ajax MotionCam Outdoor Fibra runs HD photo verification over the wired bus — reliable wired delivery of intrusion images, with no battery concerns.
Add Jeweller wireless devices to fill awkward gaps, extend to outbuildings without trenching, or temporarily expand the system. Hybrid Hub manages both seamlessly.
Devices powered from the bus — no batteries to replace, no battery alarms in the middle of the night. Hub provides power and battery backup for the entire wired system.
We recommend Fibra over Jeweller wireless in specific scenarios. Wireless is the default for most residential — Fibra wins where it matters.
When walls are open during construction, running shielded cable is trivial. The result: no battery replacements ever, perfect signal reliability, and lower long-term maintenance.
Beyond ranges where wireless reliability degrades. Fibra runs 2km per line, perfect for large warehouses, distribution centres, fleet yards, and industrial estates.
Fibra uses shielded cable that's harder to interfere with than radio. Combined with anti-masking sensors and photo verification, the highest practical security level.
Steel-frame industrial buildings, deep basements, and properties with extensive metal infrastructure attenuate wireless signals. Fibra cables go where radio waves struggle.

Wired installations vary significantly by property size, cable runs, device count, and whether existing alarm wiring is reusable. New builds where cables can be run during construction are most cost-effective. Site survey provides accurate scoping.
Get Exact QuoteFor most homes, Jeweller wireless is the right choice — easier install, no disruption, modern app experience, no compromise on functionality. For new builds, large commercial, high-security, and properties with difficult RF environments, Fibra is better. We assess and recommend during site survey.
Possible but disruptive. Cable runs need to go behind walls, through ceiling voids, and to each device location. For period properties this often means damaging plaster and decoration. Wireless Jeweller is usually the better retrofit option. Fibra retrofit makes sense if you're already doing major renovation.
Sometimes. Ajax Fibra requires shielded twisted-pair cable. Some legacy systems used compatible cabling, others didn't. We test existing cables during survey — if compatible, significant cost saving. If incompatible, we typically reuse the cable runs/conduit and replace just the cable inside.
Cutting the bus cable is detected by the Hub instantly — devices beyond the cut go offline and trigger a fault alarm. The Hub alerts on the app and (optionally) ARC. Combined with tamper detection on each device, intentional sabotage is hard to achieve without immediate alert.
No — that's a key advantage. Power and data run on the same shielded twisted-pair cable. The Hub provides bus power for all devices on the line. No mains spurs to each detector, no battery concerns.
Yes — Hub Hybrid 2 and MegaHub manage both Fibra and Jeweller simultaneously. Use Fibra for the main backbone (sensors at fixed locations) and Jeweller wireless for outbuildings, hard-to-cable locations, or expansion. Both protocols appear identically in the Ajax app.
Products typically installed alongside Ajax Fibra in a complete Ajax system.
Fibra installations need proper design — bus topology, cable specifications, device layout. Free design consultation for new builds, retrofits, and large commercial.
